Budget cuts in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg School system threatened middle school athletics, leaving around 1,900 student-athletes without a team to play on. Initially, Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools considered eliminating all middle-school sports; however, they later decided that they would be able to allocate enough funding to support football, volleyball and cheerleading in the fall; boys' and girls' basketball and cheerleading in the winter; and boys' and girls' track in the spring for the 2011-12 academic school-year.

Porsche Talks of a New Supercar

Porsche is thinking about producing a new supercar model that will be more high-end than the current 911 GT2 RS but less costly than the (very costly) 918 Spyder, according to a Bloomberg report. 

The goal is to bridge the gap between the GT2 RS priced at $338,500 and the 918 Spyder priced at $768,000. The car could also be accompanied by a variant of the Cayman and Boxter models and a long wheelbase Panamera.
