Today we have an update concerning a post from quite a while ago which involved the upcoming 2015 Macan and Porsche's production facility in Leipzig, Germany. After two years of construction and a huge investment, the facility has been expanded and has commenced production on the new Macan. By expanding the Leipzig facility, the factory now includes a new body shop, paint shop and assembly line which boosts the brand's capacity at the plant to 50,000 units annually. "The fact that Porsche has invested half a billion Euro in the Leipzig plant in addition to the original 250 million Euro, thus creating 1,500 new jobs, makes one thing clear: We are totally convinced in the qualities of this location and that the Macan will be a marketing success,"1 says Chairman of the Executive Board of Porsche AG, Matthias Müller.
