This week for Porsche Southpoint’s FYI Friday, we take a look at the origination of the Porsche logo. The horse in the middle of the Porsche crest represents power and Stuttgart, a town in South Germany that was founded from a stud ranch[1]. The stylized antlers, as well as the red and black stripes, are meant to pay homage to the Württemberg Kingdom’s coat of arms. The shape of the logo is in a crest to honor the Württemberg-Baden region, which was a very political region at the time the logo was created[2]. The brand name “Porsche” went across the top of the crest to identify the brand.
