Porsche Southpoint has always been happy to support our local community. We love to sponsor, volunteer, or donate any resources we can to help our community to grow. Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” Porsche Southpoint receives a great deal of support from our community, so it is only fair and fun that we return the favor. Recently, we shot a series of television commercials highlighting our community partners. Among those filmed were Twana Jones from Meals on Wheels, Dee Blake from Duke Hospice, Eric Guckian from Triangle United Way, Laurie Paolicelli from Orange County Visitor’s Bureau, and Aubrey Fox-Williams from WCHL & Chapelboro.
Twana Jones, Meals on Wheels
Meals on Wheels is a public-private partnership that is proven to effectively address the challenges associated with aging by promoting health and quality of life for vulnerable seniors.[1] Meals on Wheels delivers fresh or frozen meals to the homes of vulnerable seniors, but not only do they bring nutritional nourishment, they also bring emotional nourishment to those who may be lonely[2]. They also host an event called Dining for Dollars that helps raise money to continue feeding seniors in their homes. Porsche Southpoint is a proud sponsor of Dining for Dollars and Meals on Wheels.
Dee Blake, Duke Hospice
Duke Hospice has a goal “to help patients and their caregivers face the end of life with comfort, dignity, and compassion.”[3] Duke Hospice provides palliative care, or care that manages the symptoms associated with terminal illnesses, to meet the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of our their patients.[4] Porsche Southpoint is a proud sponsor of Duke Hospice. Porsche Southpoint proudly supports their annual fundraiser through charitable donations and volunteering.
Eric Guckian, United Way of the Greater Triangle
The United Way of the Greater Triangle has a goal of two-generational supporting and building, not just funding.[5] These collaborative partnerships can “help create, scale, and sustain solutions that foster self-determination and generational success for children and their families.”[6] The United Way of the Greater Triangle serves the four counties that are a part of the Triangle area. Porsche Southpoint has partnered with United Way for nearly 10 years. Recently, Performance Acura participated in a two-week fundraising campaign that raised more than $40,000 to support the United Way of the Greater Triangle. Porsche Southpoint also volunteered time by helping to put together literacy kits for local children.
Laurie Paolicelli, Orange County Visitor’s Bureau
The Orange County Visitor’s Bureau serves the county by promoting economic activity to help Orange County flourish. “The mission of the Chapel Hill/Orange County Visitors Bureau is to develop and coordinate visitor services in Orange County and to implement marketing programs that will enhance the economic activity and quality of life in the community.”[7] Our own Jill McCullough, Director of Communications, even sat on the Board of Directors in 2015. Porsche Southpoint supports the Orange County Visitor’s Bureau by partnering with local non-profits to support, or fund, projects that will benefit the local community.
Aubrey Fox-Williams, WCHL & Chapelboro
WCHL is “THE place for news, talk, Tar Heel sports and information for Chapel Hill, Carrboro and Hillsborough.”[8] Chapelboro is the website of WCHL and, between the two, the focus is on what matters to the people who live in the Chapel Hill, Carrboro, and Hillsborough areas.[9] WCHL/Chapelboro hosts a weekly recognition program called Hometown Heroes and Porsche Southpoint sponsors this program every week. Porsche Southpoint also sponsors the Hometown Heroes awards banquet every February, where all the Hometown Heroes awards recipients gather to be recognized.
The commercial shoot invited representatives from each of these organizations to give testimonials and share why they are happy to partner with Porsche Southpoint. All of our partners were invited to come as a group and the commercial footage was shot at our BMW location. Thank you to all of our community partners and those who help support their causes. Porsche Southpoint has been a proud sponsor of our local community and will continue to be a proud sponsor well into the future.
