Many of us realize the importance of having enough windshield washer fluid on hand because we have all probably been in situations where we used it to keep our windshield clean while driving in terrible weather.
Windshield washer fluid not only keeps the windshield clean so we can have a clear view of the road ahead, but it also acts as a lubricant for the wipers as they move on the glass of the windshield. It is important that we periodically check the level of the fluid in the reservoir so there will be enough fluid available for long periods of time.
If there is not enough fluid to perform both tasks for an extended period of time, then the friction of the wipers on the glass that doesn’t get lubricated can damage the motor of the wiper itself, causing a more costly repair at a later time.
So from time to time, check the fluid level of the washer fluid in the reservoir and top it off.
