It’s after Thanksgiving, so it’s “officially” alright to decorate your house in lights. Don’t have time to decorate with lights or just want to look at decorations? There is a few places within the Chapel Hill, Durham, Raleigh, and Triangle Area to check out great light displays and have a little fun too.
Hill Ridge Farms Festival of Lights is open until December 31. Sunday-Thursday it’s open from 5 to 9 PM. On Friday and Saturday, it’s open from 4 to 10 PM. This isn’t just a look at lights and leave event. There is bonfires, covered wagon hayrides, giant slides, and of course Santa will be there for pictures.
If you want to travel a bit East to Benson, the Meadow Lights display is a real treat. Admission is free, but they have three trains to take you around to look at all the displays, and the rides are $2.00. Plus, they have a candy shop, and who wouldn’t want some delicious holiday treats?
If you want to stay a bit closer to home, and after you attend our 2016 Performance Dog Show, Historic Hillsborough is doing their Annual Hillsborough Candlelight Home Tour. Just like our Dog Show, the home tour will be on December 10th. The 2016 Performance Dog Show is from 11 to 1 PM and the candlelight tour is from 3 to 8.
