Some people consider Thanksgiving to be one of the most stressful times of the year. The only thing that makes Thanksgiving stressful is you. Everyone at Porsche Southpoint wants you and all the families in the Chapel Hill, Durham, Carry, Raleigh and the rest of the Triangle Area, to have a stress free Thanksgiving. So here is a list of tips to help get rid of that stress.
1. Plan your meal in advance. If you start planning now, then you will have plenty of time to go to the grocery store to get the ingredients that you need. You’ll also know how long everything cooks, so you know what order to cook in and what time your guest need to be there to eat.
2. Prepare in advance. Some things can be done a day or two early. Desserts, cole slaw, potato salad, and other dishes that are good served cold, can be made before Thanksgiving and stored in the refrigerator.
3. Turkey prep. Don’t forget to set your frozen turkey out a few days before. A 12 to 16-pound turkey can take 3 to 4 days in the refrigerator to completely unthaw. If you can’t buy one that far in advance, then it would take 6-8 hours soaking in cold water. It’s important to get the turkey unfrozen before cooking, especially if you plan on deep frying it.
4. Set the table the night before. Why wait to the last minute to set the table? Go on and put all the plates and silverware out the night before. You can also set up where desserts and drinks will go as well.
5. Have fun. Thanksgiving comes once a year. Sometimes it’s the only time you get to see certain family and friends. Enjoy the moments you have with and make great memories for years to come.
