Finally, 2016 is almost over and 2017 is about to begin. So in case you would like to watch 2016 to disappear into the history books and welcome in 2017, we came up of things going on in the Chapel Hill, Durham, Cary, Apex, Raleigh, and the rest of the Triangle Area.
The biggest event is the First Night Raleigh event. Who wouldn’t want to see a giant acorn lowered at midnight? Tons of activities and huge crowds that will certainly make for one exciting party.
In Chapel Hill, the Night Lights at the Planetarium is certainly a family favorite. The Morehead Planetarium is having special shows and lots of children’s activities. Tickets are $5 to get in.
If you’re up for a slight drive, Eastover is having a unique New Year’s Eve celebration. A 30-pound flea, yes a flea, will fall from the sky and hit the ground at the stroke of midnight. Certainly one of the weirdest countdowns that just might have you itching to go back next year.
Even though you won’t be able to celebrate the New Year on the ice, Downtown Raleigh has an outdoor ice rink that is open until 11. It may not be midnight, but at least you can close out 2016 with some great family fun.
There are lots of events going on in the Triangle Area. These are just a couple. Everyone at Porsche Southpoint wants to remind you to please be safe this New Year’s weekend. If you choose to drink away the memories of 2016, then please start 2017 off right by taking a cab or having a designated driver. We care about everyone in our community and we want you and your families happy and safe this holiday weekend.
Finally, we want to thank you for making 2016 an amazing year for us! We know that we would not be here if it wasn’t for you. Thank you for contributing to all our community events we’ve had throughout the year. Happy 2017 everyone! May it be filled with health and happiness.
