Fiction writer, carpenter, car racer and all-around doer and do-gooder Jack Olsen has created two masterpieces that are not mutually exclusive. With the 40th anniversary of the Porsche 911 upon us, we at Performance Porsche thought this would be a great time to revisit a beautiful car and garage that has received a lot of worthy press.
Olsen has created unique personae out of two iconic things -- a modified 1972 Porsche 911 named "Black Beauty" and a two-car suburban garage dubbed "12-Gauge Garage." Both were assembled with a selective hodgepodge of materials and parts, creating truly customized, superbly functional pieces that any car aficionado would give his or her first born to have.
