To make its return to motorsport racing, Martini Racing, the official brand of Italian distillery Martini & Rossi, is teaming up with Porsche. Its longtime partnership with the automaker dates back to 1968 when it sponsored two Porsche 906 race cars. Ever since then, it has partnered with Porsche for various events throughout the years.

In the past Martini has participated in Formula One and the 24 Hours of Le Mans motorsport events. For its comeback debut, Martini will be taking part in the Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup one-make series which is built around the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup. The driver in this race will be none other than the legendary Sebastien Loeb. He will be racing a car adorned with the distinctive Martini Racing colors of dark blue, light blue and red stripes. These are being used for the first time since 2008. For the third round of racing in Italy, another driver who has yet to be named will be hopping behind the wheel.

It turns out that this year Martini is celebrating an impressive 150th anniversary, while at the same time Porsche is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its iconic Porsche 911 model. Here at Performance Porsche, we are excited to see how the automaker's partnership with Martini continues to unfold.
