At this year's Geneva Motor Show, auto enthusiasts were thrilled by all of the new model unveilings. One that really stood out was the fifth generation of the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3. With new accents enhancing style, performance and innovation, we are excited to uncover the details for all of you in the greater Chapel Hill area.
Providing drivers with a fun-to-drive experience, the new Porsche sports a 3.8-liter boxer engine that churns out 475 horsepower and includes a specially designed dual-clutch transmission that powers the rear wheels. The design of the engine is based off of the one within the Porsche 911 Carrera S.
With great racing power, the GT3 can power from zero to 60 miles per hour in just 3.3 seconds. It also has the ability to reach a top speed of 195 mph. We can only imagine what it would be like to take one for a spin on the open road.
For improved stability and handling the GT3 features active rear-wheel steering, making this the first time this feature has been available in a production model. Depending on the speed, the rear wheels steer in the same or opposite direction of the front wheels to enhance agility and offer a smoother driving experience. Other notable features include LED headlights and styling features that boost the vehicle's aerodynamics.
