Just by taking one look at the new Porsche lineup, it's easy to see why more and more drivers in the greater Chapel Hill, NC area and beyond are becoming proud owners of these luxurious models. This is reflected in the recently released June sales report as well, showing it was the German automaker's best month of June sales it has ever experienced.
In June alone, Porsche saw an increase in sales of 23 percent with a total of 3,700 models sold. It's not just this particular month that shows impressive results either. Looking at the entire first half of the year, Porsche Cars North America (PCNA), saw an overall increase of 30 percent compared to 2012, which was a record-setting year for the brand. Thus far, a total of 21,309 units have been delivered in the United States.
"This first half of the year has been impressive on a number of fronts," states Detlev von Platen, president and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, Inc. "Along with experiencing record-setting deliveries, we were also recently recognized as the top brand in the annual J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, with our 911 and Boxster models ranking highest in their individual segments. In the context of an improving economy, we're encouraged to continue this momentum with a persistent cadence of new model launches this year."1.
Which specific models are proved to be the best performers in June? At the top of the sales chart was the Porsche Cayenne SUV with a 77 percent increase in sales this June. Of these sales, 42 percent account for GTS and Diesel models. The newly released Porsche Cayman and Boxster were strong performers as well. Their sales combined were up by an impressive 66 percent when compared to June of 2012.
