There's a line of new Porsche vehicles coming to Performance Porsche of Chapel Hill, NC. Each will be specially calibrated to take on any city or suburban road. Porsche takes great pride in their consumer rides, just as much as they do in performance models. For example, the Porsche 911 GT3, which is gearing up for an intense competition.
The World Endurance Championship will be held on May 5th 2012. Porsche drivers Marc Lieb and Richard Lietz are going to pilot Felbermayr-Proton's Porsche 911 GT3 RSR1
"I'm looking forward to contesting the new World Endurance Championship in Spain." said Lieb. "Aside from the Nürburgring-Nordschleife, the Spa circuit is my absolute favorite. The track is flowing and very challenging, not to mention the fantastic corners. It's simply great fun to drive the 911 GT3 RSR there."
The pro class event that these Porsche 911 drivers will participate in is reserved for slightly modified sports cars, that range within a 440-hp to 500-hp engine output.
The race takes place for over six hours, which is one of the longest, if you don't count the annual 12 hour event at Sebring and 24 hour event of LE MANS.
The Ardennes track opened its first endurance race in 1954, placing its mark on motorsport history. Drivers will have to navigate a notoriously thin and narrow portion to the course, Eau Rouge corner, which could result in several vehicles spinning out. We're betting Porsche handles extremely well during this competition.
