The Initial Quality Study measures consumers' opinions of cars after 90 days of ownership. It is currently in its 26th year. It "captures problems experienced by owners in two distinct categories: design-related problems and defects and malfunctions," according to a recent article by Porsche Cars of North America. The cars with the least problems and highest consumer satisfaction are named top in their class.
