We like to stay up to date with automotive trends here at Performance Porsche, and share them with drivers in the greater Chapel Hill, NC area on our blog. One design concept that has been gaining more traction as of late is the shooting brake, a wagon-esque look that still maintains high levels of luxury while being able to seat passengers in the rear. This rise in popularity has led to Porsche considering giving the Porsche Panamera a boost in the back to build a shooting brake version of the luxury vehicle.
While the current Panamera offers ample room and cargo capacity in the back, a shooting brake edition of the performance vehicle will elevate it to a new level of versatility and added practicality. Also, given how many other luxury carmakers out there are looking to add shooting brakes to their lineup, Porsche knows it can have the edge using the already popular Panamera platform.
The Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake is expected to arrive by 2015 with the next-generation edition of the sedan version. There's also talk of the automaker giving the Panamera a lighter frame, hoping to drop its curb weight by about 330 pounds. On top of that, it's expected that the vehicle will take on the Modular Standard Platform by VW to give it a series of sports cars that also have more fuel efficient engines.
As more details begin to trickle out regarding the Porsche Panamera Shooting Brake, we will be sure to let you know the latest on our blog.
