With its abstract design, crisp white walls, and large, glass panels, the Porsche Museum in Stuttgart, Germany is truly a sight to behold. But the vessel of pure Porsche history contains more than meets the eye. And we're not just talking about the 80-something exclusive exhibits held within its public floors. Performance Porsche is talking about a secret collection of rare autos that most of the world knew nothing about until now.
For all those enthusiasts currently sitting wide-eyed on the edge of their seats in anticipation, we should point out that complete information surrounding this secret sector of the Porsche Museum has not yet been revealed. Rather, Porsche has set out to spark the curiosity of millions by releasing part 1 in a series of short films called, "Porsche Museum Secrets: Part 1."
Narrated by strong voices drenched in a heavy German accent, the video clip gives the first look at the Porsche Museum's incredible 505-model collection which includes everything from exclusive concepts and exceptional new Porsche vehicles to models that hold unbelievable historical significance.
While the automaker hasn't revealed exactly where this special Porsche holding dock is located, Achim Steiskal, Head of Porsche Museum, describes it as, "a kind of hub like a big airport where the cars come in, the cars go out."1 Steiskal also notes that the autos are stored in a climate-controlled local and are constantly restored for optimum preservation.
