Porsche recently paired its popular Panamera line with its reliable GTS model to offer a Panamera GTS for the 2013 year. The concept premiered at the 2011 Los Angeles Autoshow. GTS is known for offering increased performance without making the car too frivolous for daily use, and now the Panamera line joins to spice-up the model a bit. The Panamera GTS model will offer the same 4.8 liter V-8 as the Panamera S model, but with an added 30 hp. This lends the new GTS a total horsepower of 430. Torque also increases from 369 lb-ft to 384 lb-ft. An improved sport exhaust system and ECU aid the GTS in achieving these striking numbers. Brake hardware, as seen on the Panamera Turbo, helps to brace this speed and power easily. Porsche will also include the Sport Chrono package as standard on this new model, as well as the PDK dual-clutch automatic transmission system. And, top speed will peak at 178 mph.
Interior changes for the new GTS are also impressive. These changes include: sports seats, a SportDesign steering wheel, special leather, Alcantara trim, and GTS branding throughout. Superficial exterior features won't change very much; however, you can get a lot of the trim pieces in high-gloss black. Although these changes might seem minor for Porsche enthusiasts, at Performance Porsche we know that sometimes the best redesigns involve keeping tried-but-true features that clientele already enjoy.
