"People can have the Model T in any color, so long as it's black."
-Henry Ford
The new Porsche Black Edition will be available in April 2011 as a 2012 model year vehicle. It's a special edition that comes in a Coupe and a Cabriolet model and as you guessed it, it is all black... but you can decide which shade black you want- Standard Black or Basalt Black Metallic. Even the "Black Edition" lettering on the entry guards and the serial number stamped on your glove box are black. The 911 Black Edition comes with the Infrotainment (Bose Surround Sound, Navigation, XM Radio) and Comfort (Seat Heating, Dimming Mirrors, Power Seats w/ Memory) Packages and the exterior boasts the new 911 Turbo II wheel and the 911 model logo. The color on the 911 Black Edition Carrera comes from the two-color 19-inch wheels that prodive an unobstructed view of the four-piston aluminum monobloc fixed calipers that just happen to be painted, wait for it, black. Only 1,911 units will be allocated worldwide with around 30% of them coming to North America. Added bonus? The Black Edition package has a savings of about $6,000 over a comparably equipped 911 Carrera. It's a special equipment package at a discounted price.
Did we mention that it's a Special Edition?!
Elegant. Classy. Sporty. Pure Black. Inside and out.
