We've talked quite a bit about the new 2012 Porsche 911 here at Performance Porsche, and we'll be the first to admit a slight obsession with the sleek, stylish automobile. So, naturally, when we discovered the 2012 Porsche had been named 2012's "Best Car to Buy" by Motor Authority, we weren't at all surprised. The Porsche was judged in the following categories: value, performance, style, and comfort. It easily rose to the top of all of the luxury and performance vehicles evaluated.
The 2012 Porsche 911 is the latest in seven generations of the iconic sports car. The new Porsche 911 defies physics with its use of almost-complete balance despite the engine being behind the rear wheels. Once drivers learn to control the beast, it's one of the easiest vehicles to operate. Expectations surrounding the 911's legendary electro-mechanical power steering (EPS) are also turned upside down; a numb, disconnected feeling isn't detected in this newest model. The 2012 Porsche boasts a 350 -hp Carrera engine or 400-hp Carrera S engine, depending on the driver's choice, and a newly re-tuned PDK dual-clutch 7-speed transmission.
The interior of the new Porsche is comfortable and luxurious, despite its sporty attitude. It contains light leathers, durable plastics, and an amazing fit and finish across all the switchgear. The rear seats are actually usable for medium-sized adults and children. Up front, there is ample room for much taller persons. The Porsche Stability Management (PSM) and Porsche Torque Vectoring (PTV) systems keep the driver in control at all times. A 30 percent larger sunroom keeps the vehicle open and inviting.
Performance Porsche could continue to name all of the 911's amazing features, but wouldn't it be much nicer to see it for yourself? Visit us in Chapel Hill, NC today to schedule a test drive, or contact us about owning the car of your dreams.
