Porsche Wraps Up Rennsport Reunion VI with a Family Photo

What would it look like if an automaker threw a party for 50,000 of its closest friends, to highlight favorite cars from today and yesterday, unveil some new projects, and to share a mutual love of the world's most iconic sports cars?

It would look a little like the sixth Rennsport Reunion, which started on Friday and finishes up today at the Leguna Seca Raceway in California.

At last year's Rennsport, more than 60,000 fans attended throughout the three-day event--and it seems like just as many came out again this year, though numbers haven't been confirmed yet.

The Rennsport Reunion brings together vehicles, drivers, fans, and products from every era of the Porsche legacy--a legacy that's kicking off its seventh decade of life in style. The event included Porsche champion drivers Hurley Haywood, Derek Bell, and Jacky Ickx. Porsche Factory drivers--those who sample and test the newest models--were also in attendance, chatting with fans and fellow drivers alike.

One of the highlights of the Rennsport Reunion was the worldwide release of the new Porsche 935, a racer that was referred to as Porsche's "love letter" to its fans.

After seeing all of this, it's not hard to understand why Porsche has one of the strongest brand loyalty rates from its customers. It's not just a collection of car owners--it's a community that spans ages, lifestyles, regions, and generations.
